Here are some pictures of Subbes, from birth on. We’ll add more as time goes on.

subbes the cat's mother in labor

This is Chibi, Subbes’s mother in labor about to give birth to him. He was the only kitten in his litter. She didn’t look like she was having a lot of fun giving birth.

subbes the newborn kitten immediately after birth

This is Subbes the newborn kitten and his mama Chibi immediately after he was born on April 16 2002. The picture is cropped a little, because she gave birth in the hallway, not in the nest, and therefore there is blood all over the carpet and it’s really gross. Here she is cleaning him off.

subbes the newborn kitten looking for breakfast

These two are Subbes after he was cleaned up and moved to the kitty bed. Here he nursed and his mother kept him warm.

subbes the baby kitten in my hand

This is Subbes a few hours after he was born. His momma let me hold him. He was very squirmy and pooped on my hand.

subbes the baby kitten taking his first nap

Here is Subbes taking the first in a very long line of naps. He is so little and so cute! Look at those giant paws.

subbes the baby kitten asleep in my hand

Sleepy baby…

cute tabby kitten tummy

A couple weeks old, he’s getting quite a tummy on him. His mom wasn’t too fond of me messing with the cat bed (even though she let me hold him) so the bed looks kinda dirty. He still sleeps on his back like this, by the way.

subbes the kitty at 6-8 weeks

Here he is at about 6-8 weeks old. He is growing so fast! His eyes are starting to change color, too. He is so curious about the world.

subbes the cat in a dog harness

Subbes at 3 years old preparing for some “undercover dog” work. He is so big that no cat collar will fit him. We HAD to get him a dog harness. So, to match the dog harness we got him a bone nametag. He loves it.

subbes the cat at 3 and a half

3 and a half years old, laying on his back, enjoying the modesty of a foot-long “tube top” that is normally one of those crinkle tunnels that cats can play in. He is 3 feet long from nose to the tip of his tail.
