BULLETIN - Those who have Microsoft’s CATS may be vulnerable to worms due to an exploit in the CATS pedigree.
While this vulnerability is not limited to only Microsoft’s CATS, cats from the Microsoft pedigree are the targeted breed of this bulletin. Other breeds may also be affected, so be sure to use an antivirus and dewormer no matter which breed you are.
Studies have found that CATS, bred by the multi-billion dollar company Microsoft, are vulnerable to worms such as Roundworms (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina) , Tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum, T. taeniaeformis), and Hookworms (Ancylostoma braziliense). This is due to an exploit in the CATS pedigree and as of today there is still no patch to prevent this from occurring. Therefore, all users of Microsoft’s CATS pedigree should be on the lookout for symptoms of worms and if necessary, use dewormer.
Symptoms of worms can include diarrhea, vomiting, constant hunger, a “potbelly” appearance, abdominal pain, and blood in stools. Additionally, sometimes the worms can be visible in the stool or near the cat’s rectum. Worms can ultimately cause infection, illness, and death to cats, dogs, and humans, so deworming is a necessary procedure to protect against worms.
