EULESS, TEXAS - Breaking news that a local area cat is doing a good deed! According to sources, Pokey, a 13 year old tabby from Euless, has accepted a request from a group of Nigerian cats who wish to transfer several thousand pounds of catnip for safekeeping.
“They sent me an email, and it touched my heart,” Pokey is quoted as saying. “I just wanted to help.” The names of the Nigerian cats are unknown, apparently due to a strict confidentiality agreement to which Pokey has put his pawprint to sign. However, our sources state that the Nigerian cats have indicated that this event was spurred by the Nigerian government threatening to seize the large amounts of catnip in a short matter of time. “All I had to do was give my shipping information, and a sample of the catnip from my own stash, so that the Nigerian cats can make sure that I take good care of unused catnip. Of course I sent them my very best!”
It is unknown when the shipment will arrive, but Pokey hopes that it will be soon. Pokey is also quoted as saying that part of the agreement will allow him to keep approximately 30% of the catnip for his own personal use. In a recent interview, he was asked, “What will you do with all that catnip?”
He responded, “Well, I was thinking that since it is an amount more than I could possibly use in my own lifetime, I should invest it in other ventures, possibly netting myself some upgraded furniture or maybe even an entertainment center. You know, the kinds with carpet and the round beds.” The rest, he said, would be donated to charities that save the lives of kittens and sick elderly cats.
