kitten butt

Two Kittens in San Diego are suffering the consequences after their mother cat told them they would get stuck in a misbehaving position if they didn’t correct their behavior immediately. The cat and kittens were on a stroll in the park when the two calico kittens discovered a human who was interested in scratching their backs.

As all kittens do when their back is scratched, the kittens’ bottoms went up in the air. The mama cat, Bella, warned them, “if the wind changes, you’ll get stuck that way.” Unfortunately, the wind direction shifted from East-northeast to South-southeast before the kittens could react. Now, the kittens are frozen in a condition commonly known as “elevator butt.”

Veterinarians have tried forcibly and surgically relaxing the kittens’ bottoms to no avail. Indeed, they are stiffly raised in the “scratch me” position and so far, no cure has been found. Bella, the mama cat, is extremely embarrassed for her children and has asked that their identities be withheld.
