TENNESSEE - It’s a somber day in Memphis, Tennessee where an unlucky feline named Patches saw his untimely fate. While it’s commonly known that most cats get 9 lives, those that knew Patches say there must be some kind of mistake.
“It’s just not fair. I am sure he only got 8 lives,” cried Taffy, the 4-year-old persian cat who lived with Patches. In an interview, Taffy said that, prior to today, her roommate fell off a tree three times, was hit by a car once, had a bad experience with some rotten tuna, and was squished by Santa Claus as he tumbled out of the fireplace on one Christmas.
Today, Patches met his maker when he was suddenly flattened by an oncoming train at approximately 9 p.m. Central time. It is not known how many cats have survived similar accidents, but those who knew Patches say that he is entitled to one more life. Taffy and friends of Patches asserted that they will find out exactly how this happened, and sue for compensation. Any proceeds will be turned over to the local humane society.
