It’s a topic that most like to leave in the litterbox, but unfortunately it is a fact of life that many have to deal with. From time to time a cat’s pipes can get a little “clogged up” and it is up to us to find a way to relieve ourselves of the pain and discomfort that comes along with such a problem. Cat grass, catnip, and household plants are natural laxatives for cats, but not all “green things” are tasty and not all can do the job in the short time that we need or hope for. Likewise there are medicines that can treat constipation in cats, like laxatone and petroleum jelly. Unfortunately even the tuna-flavored remedies leave quite a bit to be desired.
But here’s one you probably haven’t thought of — Ice cream.
That’s right, ice cream is a great laxative for cats because cats are lactose intolerant. That means that our bodies will try to pass it very quickly, making it a quick and effective remedy for a very uncomfortable situation. With a new variety of flavors targeted directly at cats, ice cream will now be a tasty and flavorful way for all felines to stay “regular.”
Keep an eye out for these flavors:
Beluga Berry
Cheesey Mousey
Gizzards & Innards
Half-baked Catnip
Pickles & Fried Chicken (For pregnant cats)
Rocky Squirrel
Tangy Tuna
Veals on Wheels (When your day is going downhill fast)
