Catnabbit! gone to the dogs, php easter egg discovered

BREAKING NEWS - So long, fire hydrants. Dogs have a new place to make their mark! It has been discovered that the makers of PHP have left a backdoor in their software which allows canines to manipulate any PHP-driven website to display a picture of a dog. Dogs, like cats, mark their territory in order to show others in the area that the marked site belongs to them. Unfortunately, hacker dogs have infiltrated almost every PHP site in existence, posting their pictures as they mark their “web territory” for all to see. At this time there is no known security patch for this problem. Experts are working to determine the cause of this concern and the amount of threat that it poses. All computer users are urged to increase security by installing and maintaining the use of firewalls. Since the problem is only related to web sites, cats still have free reign over their “mice.”

Some sites already affected include popular feline-frequented web servers, such as Stuff on My Cat, Kitten War, My Cat Hates You, and even the famous technorati.com. Catnabbit! has also found that they are vulnerable to the dog’s attacks.
